We are proud of the mental health and wellbeing support we offer our staff. Staff play an important part in the everyday support of young people’s and colleague’s mental health and wellbeing. In doing this it is important the school supports the mental health and wellbeing of its employees. Please find links to a range of resources and information we have found useful to embed positive mental health and wellbeing as part of our ethos.
The Calm App
We have signed up this year as part of our #ChangeMaker initiative to the Calm App as a school. Allowing for staff to focus on mindfulness, strategies for anxiety, stress and sleep. This Calm App is also used for pupils during the day to have a moment of reflection.
Our Happiness Committee
We have a dedicated Happiness Committee in school that gives staff further opportunity to drive change for their own mental health and wellbeing. This has included things like wellbeing after school events, providing tea, coffee and fruit and wellbeing walks in the peaks.
Our Friday Feeling
It's important that we end a busy week on a positive note and music is a way to help feed the soul. Every Friday, Staff have the opportunity to take part in our Friday feeling. This is an opportunity to get together as a team and let the work week go whilst of course dancing and singing to music tracks picked by staff members themselves. It's also filmed and available on our school X account.
Access to Services
We provide access to a range of services through Westfield Health. Giving staff further opportunity to make a healthy difference to the quality of life for the communities in which they live and work.
